just connected my idle control valve now my car is revving itself on start up to about 4-5000 rpm then when I rev the car it idles at 1000 revs and keeps jumping to 2000 revs without me touching any pedals. I have been on a 2 minute drive and it keeps on having a dodgy idle and when you are driving if you stick it in 2nd and dont touch any pedals you can slowly see it revving higher. The only thing that went wrong with it when I was removing the old one was that on one of the 2 screws the head snapped off of it when I was trying to get it out, but I have felt around it while the engine is running and it doesnt feel like any air is leaking out of it or no suction on it so what could be up with it. I brought a new idle control valve from a saxo breaker in stafford and fitted that and that did as I have said and just kept revving then I thought that idle control valve is naffed so I fitted my old one and it did the same could someone help me on this please.

#2try bleeding the fuel rail? i did this after head gasket and stop the high revving

#3ive had the same problem before i bought a idle control valve from a a scrap yard and it was doing the same and i found out the one i bought was faulty too lol so i bought another one and it idle's perfect at 90orpm (just under 1000rpm)
