Hi, im going to flush all the cooling system out later. How much coolant should I put in when filling it up. I have read that you can put up 40%. I don't know if thats right. The thing is I don't know how mutch fluid the system anyway so I can't work it out. If anybody knows how mutch I should put in it would be a great help. Preferbly in ml its a mk2 vts
    Thanks

I just used a 2 litre jug. And did a 50/50 mix of coolant and water.

Then did it again until it was at the right level. I can't remember how much I used though.

you have about 6l of liquid in the system iirc and i just went to halfords etc and got a 4l antifreeze bottle and filled it until there was about 1 liter left in it and then topped it up with water(diluted it) untill the system was bled and sorted

haynes manual suggests that u fill the radiator until it reaches the max limit then leave it to rest for 10 minutes to run through. start the engine for a few minutes then allow to cool before topping up if required. keep an eye on it for a few days just incase it drops again.

look at the back of the coolant bottle for the ratio and top up between the lines i generally just chuck 4ltrs in and top up with water i personally dont think its that inportant until u get to winter if there isnt a strong enough mix your water will freeze then you got probs lol
