Rust prevention?

  1. #1
I've decided it might be an idea when some decent weather comes to give the saxo some rust prevention, I was thinking a clean up with some was wash and water to the underside, leave to dry, then some black hammerite and some underseal? Would this be a good way to do it?

Also, what should I do about any surface rust, give it a going over with the wire brush on the drill and some kurust?

Also what about all the hidden areas like under fuel tank, exhaust heat shields, skirts etc, will they be protected enough or does it all need to come off and do those bits?

    Cheers

you can only do so much. no matter how careful you are you will miss some bits. i did all wheel arches where there are no liners and made sure i got a good coat in the inner back arches. Planning on doing underneath when i get time. Under the spare wheel too.

just give it a clean down, you can either paint the arches if you wish, or get sticky and get waxoil(black)

Kurust can be done in certain areas(rusty bits-aslong as its surface,) as its quite dear for alot of it

Cheers lads, will probably do it when the weather gets a bit better, i've used that jenolite stuff, its not bad but some paints dont take well on top of it :/

There is a video on youtube of a guy waxoyling a cam per van

He uses a garden sprayer with a hose, but he's put a screw in the end of the hose then pricked 6 holes around the end of it so it comes out sideways in 6 directions, I wal like WTF then he feeds it into the box section etc to treat the insides, genius!
