can anyone tell me what this noise is. it happens when driving or parked, in gear or our. doesnt change if the clutch is in or out, its just a constant noise nothing seems to change it and it sounds like its coming from the flywheel area. kind of hard to pin point it. thanks

I'm sure I've posted on a thread with this video before haha.

Anyway, could be your release bearing, it sounds a bit like it although you'd expect that to change when you push the clutch...

hi mate, yeh i know but its returned. i dont think its the bearing as there is no difference if i push the pedal in or out. only thing that changes it is when i rev it

i would say release bearing aswell. mine is even louder. its been broken for 3 years so you can imagine the noise it makes especially when pulling away at the lights

even thought whether i push the clutch in or out the noise is still there? the clutch was brand new 3 weeks ago.. could it be something ive done wrong? not enough grease or something?

3 years? There is no way a broken bearing can last 3 years, once it starts to make any noises you'll be lucky to get a few weeks from it...

Yeh I think I said to you before, grease it up loads, lack of grease kills bearings in no time

Haha I know man, that's why it's best to find out and do it right the first time

well it was a week after i fitted it it was perfect before that, and then for a week the noise was there, then it disappeared for another week and now its back.

Crazy man, I'd stop putting it off and spend a day working it out, the longer you put it off the worse it'll get, what ever it is lol.

dont grease it too much, over lubrication kills bearings just as much as under lubrication!

which clutch did you put on?

saying this actually the release bearing is a sealed bearing so dont grease it, iv grease/oil gets on the clutch friction plate you'll have a slipping clutch in no time.

You should always put some grease around the inside of the bearing and the shaft.

a i see now, thought you meant greasing the actual inside of the bearing for some reason, its been a long week.
