i lowered my car about 2 weeks ago ... on the rear i lowered it about 70 so it was sat jus by the tread on the tyer. bt nw its droped rite down so that no tyer showing n the arch is sat level wif the rim near enuf ... would this off happend cos my rear dampers are fuked or cos the torsion bar needs to setel.
if it is my dampers ill get new 1st asap n if its the torstion that needs rasing ill do that CBA wif that tho lol

please retype so that we can understand what your saying,

    btw......cool story bro
  3. #3
basicly i lowered my car on the rear to about 70 mm n so it sat level with the top of my tyers nw its droped down so u cnt see any of the tyers
  4. #4
When you lower any car it takes a while for the suspension to settle.Lowering it by 70mm is pretty low & now the suspension has settled your down even lower & probably at risk of being pulled by the police. Why did you go that low in the 1st place?

    Steve.
  5. #5
only went that low cos my my fron springs are 70 on front but now it just looks like im goin fast every where lol so its nt the dampers its the tostion bar thats seteled lower ?
  6. #6
Torsion bar mate, but check your rear shocks as well.

    Steve.
  7. #7
why would he get pulled by police?
  8. #8
well i put another set of standard shocks on the bk bt they seamed prity fuked as well cos win i pushed them down the jus stayed in :s lol
and yer i did get pulled the other nite drivin home they asked me if i had some thing in my boot lol
  9. #9
haha the police really do have nothing better to do. never done it with me and not just my tyre, but my spokes are in the arch
  10. #10

i know what you mean. mine is lowered 60 front and 100 rear. looks like am pulling away all the time. but i like it. i have 15" alloys with 195x45 tyres. the best way i can think of lowering the front more is putting a heavier engine in haha

CUT DOWN THE TEXT TALK, it takes about 20 mins to read what the fuck your trying to say

When you lower a car, your standard shocks arent made to work at the height, and it will cause you problems
anything lower then 40mm you really need to upgrade the shocks

i know that when you put new springs on, they take a while to settle, but torsion bars dont settle, they are (Supposed to be) solid bars, and stay at the height you set them

(i could be wrong about that, but ive not heard anything about torsion bars "Settling")

i would seriously considering forking out for a good suspension kit or coilovers seeing as your going down so low.

DO IT PROPERLY OR NOT AT ALL

    Edit:
just read that back, and it sounds like im having ago at you... im not.. just trying to help you out

why dont you just chill the fuk out !
my 1st question was is it my torsion or my dampers that i have problems with all i asked i like my car being low and agen iv asked in another thread what decent coil overs are there that i should buy !!!!!! bt no replied i want infotmaition on some stuff bt no1 on hear replies to simple questions !!!

now i understand that i have a problem with my dampers n that why my car gradualy droped in the last few days now can you tell me coil over for saxos do you have to fit new wheel bearings to them as if it was a bran new strut or do u jus put you orginal ones on to the botem off them? how low can u get coilovers to go on the front n do u recomend any?

And text talk wont get you very far on here, but thats your choice, find out the hard way

thats all you had to say... rite so the reason the bk off my car has gone lower is because my damperes hav released there gas so all i need is uprated ones yer ?
if soo what would be the best company to go for ?

If your car is lowered to the extent that the wheels are fouling/scrubbing the wheel arches then yes they can after inspection do you.

What the hell are you talking about?

    1. 70 mm isnt that low, Its average for anyone who lowers the front 50-60mm
    2. Why the fuck would the police pull you? Ive driven slammed cars for the last 8 years and never been pulled for ride height.

It sounds a little extreme for settling, Tha back never really settles much compared to the front. If its dropped this much then i'd guess the floor has split, Its a common fault on saxo's. Id get it checked by who ever lowered it for you.

Torsion bars don't settle, not enough for you to notice anyway.
Something's obviously gone wrong so if I were you I'd take it back and ask them to look at it.
  38. #38
when you say split do u mean either side off the boot floor ? cos i found to small holes there that im going to have to crak out my welding skils again lol
  39. #39
i think thats a really common place for saxo's to rust. most i have seen have holes or rust there. either side at the arch
  40. #40
well im hopein wen i start taking the paint and stuff away that i dnt find a huge whole or surs patch

Then don`t listen & get pulled end up with a buggered rear beam as so many saxo`s on here end up with after lowering.

No mate, where the floor behind the front seats meets the boot floor. Pull your rear bench out and pull the carpet forward to check.
