Your battery is flat, the clicking is the starter solenoid trying to fire but it can't because there isn't enough power...

My car did this a couple of weeks ago. My first thought was a flat battery too but after trying a new one in it was still the same, so i replaced the starter and havent had a problem since.

It's the starter motor not the battery if it was battery there would be nothing at all
Starter motor clicks, tap it with hammer before trying to start it until you get new one

    I'm wrong, it's the starter.

If the battery was flat, you'd have no wheels.

I my experience it's always the starter motor when it's clicking
    Doesn't always work tapping it
If the battery was flat NOTHING would happen
Battery kept going flat on my scooby when I stopped using it couldn't even use remote to open doors

Well funny then, normally when I've had flat batteries the starter clicks, as I said before.

Jump it or charger it and it's fine.

Never replaced a starter yet and it's happened loads of times in the winter.

if its just clicking then its the battery....try jump starting the car using leads if nothing then try bumping it with a push. if it starts then its the starter
