rear brake stuck on!

   hi wondered if anyone could help me my rear brake lights are stuck on! and got pulled over by the police last night for it! lol iv got 2 week to sort it out, but apparantly french cars, peugeot, citroen etc, were built from left to right or something like that and theres the relay or switch under the passenger seat and if enough pressure has been placed on the exact spot it triggers the break and has obviously stayed on.. thing is my brake lights are only stuck ON when my side lights are on :o so im not sure what it is? any help would be much appreciated il have to take it to an auto electrician but i know the problem will be simple to fix lol cheers

   First check you have the correct bulbs fitted for the rear lights
   Then clean the contacts to check there isn't a short.

   Brake Light switch might need replacing.
   
   But as said check the bulbs etc

   could be a faulty earth therefor back feeding throught the brake light, could be switch, relay, just get a haynes manual and check every component on the brake light circuit
