1.1 Radiator on 1.6 MK1 VTR?

   My radiator's buggered so i put my bro's 1.1 rad in there will it work, any recommendations, need to find out ASAP as meant to be leaving tonight for home, thanks

   Should be fine, i know the earlier vtr mk2's had a much smaller radiator than the later ones, if your stuck in traffic maybe turn the car off to be on the safe side.

   Cheers mate i've just given it a go and temperature doesnt seem to go past half way so all should be good, yeh there both mk1's so same size rad, well hopefully i shouldn't need to keep turning it off now but ovs will do if it's necessary

   hmm it's going up to 3/4 now on temp so waiting for the fan to kick in, the fan didn't work before which is partly why i changed the rad over with the fan from the 1.1, fingers crossed that the fan will work too, no reason for it not too if the rad works right?

   there was a green and yellow cable attatchment connecting to the fan on my vtr but the connection to the fan in my bro's 1.1 was two blue cables anybody know whether i need to cross thread the cables with my bro's attatchment to the fan and if so does it matter what blue goes to what cable?

   have tried cross threading the cables swapping the cables after the 3/4 mark with no luck and still no joy, any ideas why the fan won't work is it not compatible from the 1.1

   haha was reading a few other posts and realised it could be the fuse that had blown, opened up the fuse box and walah it'd gone, so replaced fuse and the fan is working on my vtr now using my bros connection on the fan form the 1.1 having crossed threaded the wires, all sorted and thanks for your help Tammy_VTS

   have u checked the fan switch, as i think there is different colour bands for them? and possibly the fan could kick in at a different time on the 1.1 and vtr
