what provides a better flow of exhaust gasses a 4-2-1 manifold or a 4-1 manifold cheers
what provides the better flow?

#1

#2Word on here says the 4-2-1 is better for the VTR mate. The standard is 4-1 so some people have commented that another 4-1 makes little difference. Althought it doesnt have a cat so it probably does give less restriction on the revs.

#3cheers dude

#4neither. You wont notice any real difference. Get the one that fits your car.
-
#5Is there any difference in sound compared to the standard unit?
-
#6being that you have a mk2 then you will be decatting the car. You will get an increase in sound, maybe a few pops and bangs in overrun. The car will rev far easier without a horrible cat.1 user thanked this post:

#7Top stuff thanks for the info

#84-2-1 Traditionaly give more power low and mid range, most factory systems are like this. 4-1 manifold will move and improve power further up the rev range. Again, as with all tuning mods, there is trade off. 4-2-1 better for street driving but a 4-1 would be better for the track were the engine is being worked hard all the time.
Only aftermarket manifold I ever had was on my old '85 Xr3i and it definately was a marked improvement over the original one. -
#9personally i would say 4-2-1 and go stainless not mild steel.

#10Treat it as a theory only. Your road spec engines are hardly optimised.Quote:4-2-1 Traditionaly give more power low and mid range, most factory systems are like this. 4-1 manifold will move and improve power further up the rev range.
