door card ideas

    hello people got a pair of custom door cards and trying to decide what to do with them, i dont want to spray black and have a plain black interior, im after something differnt, my ideas at the mo are either getting a graffitti artist to spray paint a murial on them, or sticker bomb them, what do u guys think?

    Get a graffiti artist to draw you up some designs, before you go ahead with it..

    Im a huge fan of graffiti, so that gets my vote, been drawing my own for about 8 years now, never been in to the whole "Spraying names on walls" thing, i stick to pens and paper

    Should look pretty sexy, if you get it done right


    Also, why is the speaker pod so high up?... would that not be in the way of your knee while driving?

    i wont get in the way of ure knee, if u think about the original door card and hoe the foam insert sits where the handle is, theres a bit of space there as it goes back inwards towards the hinge? itll be cool bro,
    yea as for the spray paint was thinkin like pastel colours or something soft and not too heavy on colour, like light blues things like that;
    cool idea with the monopoly money been thinking also maybe colleging comic book strips on there , full of ideas but the crutial part is choosing the right one.

    Stickerbombing looks shite in my opinion, Especially in large areas such as a door card!! i would deffo think out side the box, Paint the whole thing white and go to town with some paints / sharpie markers!

    The comic strip idea sounds great, seen a bonnet done once, and loved it!!

    Door cards are abit more subtle to do, and i think it would look full of win!

    Let us know what you decide to do with them, coz that will be an interesting read

    Clear perspex with some lighting behind the cards, think that could look good if done well!

    decided on going for star wars comic strips, photo copies in black and white, after colleging it on in like pva, is it going to be safe to laquer spray them? or will that send the paper funny?

    i helped my friend laquered his stickerbombed mirror caps, they seemed to be fine so i imagine your door cards will also be fine! try it on a seperate piece of plastic beforehand or on a small un-noticeable area (reverse of doorcard) to see though? just incase..

    yea good idea, dude just waiting on delivery, if it looks good i'll do the inside boot lid trim the same and leave it there, dont want it over the top, just somthing different and unique.

    Think that you need something to break the big plain area, - like a handle or something, otherwise the "rocket launcher" will dominate too much.
    I would go to the scrapyard to see if i could find some nice handles on another car which can be attached from behind...

    The Star Wars comic strips idea sounds great

    think black and white comic strips would look really good IMO laquor afterwards to steal them in should be great i'd say

    would sin city not need to include red. with the door card being soo big i think it will be a bit 'in ur face' if you used the standard door card would break it up a little. beno comics, lego, or pain white with every colour paint splated onto it
