Quick release steering wheel questions

  1. #1
Im wanting a quick release but can they be used with the standard steering wheel? I know the airbag wont work, not fussed and the light is flashing anyway...

Anyone bought a universal one off demon tweeks that they can recommend me?

    Cheers

most after market wheels are 6 bolt where as the standard wheel is just the one big torz bolt through the middle, unless you make your own holes (which would look naff) then i assume it wouldnt work.

why would you want a removeable standard steering wheel anyway?

cant see how it would work

why not just get an aftermarket steering wheel to match? or drive around with the t50 torx bit and undo it everytime you get out the car lol

Cheers for the posts, just for security and the standard wheel looks fine, would be better to have a lighter aftermarket one to carry around I suppose

No point really... the only time you need a quick release wheel is when you need to remove the wheel to get in the car, like in a Caterham 7.

In terms of security... yes, not having a steering wheel makes a car harder to steal... but to make it effective and worthwhile, you would need to remove it every time you park up the car. Let's face it, you'll get bored of carrying a steering wheel around with you!
