Engine tapping and exhaust tinging noise

engine sounds like a mouse is stuck inside and is chewing its way out, im guessing something to do with tappets? and exhaust ive just had whole unit changed from mani to back box, including cat, but sounds like tin can rolling down the street, ill try and get a vid if i can. with the exhaust since ive had it done by a garage and it sounds like that would that mean they would have to sort it?

It's probably the tappets, and the rattling could be that an exhaust heatshield might not be secure. It could also be the baffles in the exhaust making a rattling sound.

tappets as said, but think maybe your tappets noise is reverberating through your exhaust, so maybe 1 will fix another

After hearing the videos, I would agree that it's probably the tappets reverberating through the exhaust. You need to get them adjusted. There's a guide in the Haynes manual I think, or you could get it done at a garage. It shouldn't be too expensive!

A lot of exhausts sound thin and metallic when new.

A thousand miles later they get coated in crud inside and quieten off a bit.
