Just to let people know the bolt im on about is a Front right Caliper lower bolt, it slides into the caliper and has a rubber thingy around it, ive tried everything but just dunno what to try now, been told to somehow drill it out but fuck knows how i do that :/
or weld my little tool that sits inside it and once its welded on try it that way......

    try molegrips ?
if your on about the caliper bolt the 19mm one ?
u can get special sockets that grip on to rouded off bolts i brought a set of snap on for 45 pounds so u can get them alot cheaper

    Irwin nut extractors everytime.

You dont need to undo the one with the rubber boot around to get the caliper off the strut btw. Thats the slider bolt that connects the slider to the caliper. You have 2 x 19mm (irc maybe 17mm) that connect the caliper to the strut.

ive done one, was an easy job, just some turd who had done the brakes before me had rounded it off, and get a pic??? seriously? theres 2 bolts in the caliper one at the top and one at the bottom and they slide in, but i cant get it out with grips, end of a spanner... nothing at all, everything just spins on on that one bolt

you tried hammering in a bigger allen key socket? failing that just weld a bolt on the end

yeah i tried the next next size up bolt and wacking it in and its not having it, reckon its worth file'ing down the edges of the bolt then try wacking a new tool bit in there?
  15. #15
BTW is there a tool to undo the bolt from the thread? i cant take it to a garage as its not in working order as off yet

Try hammering a torx bit in there, has to be a littlebit to big.... thats what i usauly do.

yeah but the next size up is massive mate, what ya reckon i do get a drill inside to cut the edges down the try hammering it in? and there hex tool bits that fit the bolt

im with james on this or get a air gun on it

Get one of theese sets or simular, there should be some torx or M bits that will fit.
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEALEY-AK219-T...item1e622548f9

Then hammer in a bit just a bit bigger.... Usualy it works....

Drilling should be the last option, they are quite hard to drill out as they are made of some hardened metal.

If the bits doesnt work then i would try grinding the sides of the pin. Just a little so you get the crome surface of and give some etches. Then try getting it of with molegrips or a big pipewrench.

im pretty sure the bottom bolt on the calipers are T40 so try get a T45 and twat it into cap head. try plus gas. or even heating up with either a blowtorch or heatgun obviously try to keep heat away from brake cylinder. try doing it up ever to slightly first then undo also hitting the caphead with a decent hammer to try shock it first will help loosen it.

decided im just going to buy a new calpiter bolt from a scrap yard near me and ask the garage up road from me to just air gun it out what takes a few secods, chuck him an easy £5/£10, put my new bolt back then go home and finish the job, bet he will be like wtf one sides all done other side standard lol! but off to see him tomorrow about if he can do that for me

been to a garage near me and the brake caliper pads bolt whats rounded wont come off at all, even with an air gun, so gona just buy another used driviers side caliper, and fit that and bleed the brake system again, ive seen a few on the net at £25 so thats alot cheaper than other ways around the problem
