can you tell if your heat shield is not on right or if the exhaust is rubbing ? I have a cackling noise when accelerating up hills. Just trying to work out what it is. It sounds like a loose chain or something or a metallic rattle....

-
#5it the heat sheild on the manifold, did it on mine up hills and at 2.5rpm every time, mine was the cage bit around the downpipe section, think it was just above the cat if i can remember right

#6My exhaust sits too high and the centre section rattles off the heat shield :/

#8check the brackets and mounts, they check the heatshields and then shake the exhaust, me mates VTR had a rattle on it, some knacker had tried to weld the centre pipe to the centre box and made a right arse of it, the weld had broke away and was rattling like mad

#9mine done this, turns out it was the rear ARB....after alot hassle i got it sorted, but its normally a simple fix of tightening the 13mm bolt up
