if i unlock my ecu by pulling out the black box whilst the car is running will this make it so i dont need keys with the chips in? as i need a spare and citroen have quoted me 65 quid to code a key to work in the ignition.

Thanx and any help is appriciated.

go to timpsons key cutters, £20 cut and coded to car. and key looks nicer than standard one too

and where is timpsons key cutters mate?

with the engine running, remove black box. and it wont lock your ecu. meaning you can then use it on another car.

    oh
    your after a second key?
once the black box is removed
i think(i recall) that the transponder in the barrel doesnt work anymore meaning you wouldnt need the one in the key.

    Hi,

Bedford126, if you unlock the ECU the transponder chip DOES NOT matter, thus you can just get any plain key cut and the car will start, in another words as far as you can turn the ignition switch then the car will start, hope this helps!
