noise from wheels

    Hi all,
I have a strange noise coming from the front wheels especially from the offside. At high speed it sounds like that driveshaft sound but convinced it isn't that; as I have checked the CV gaiters. What could it be please? Michael

wheel bearings or the cv joints, did you check for leaks?

I must admit, when the offside DS was replaced, the seal wasn't replaced. Should it have done? It was oily as the DS enters the gearbox.

just the sheer power causing the wheels to rip the tarmac in every gear.

    What the man above says.

What kind of noise is it? As mine makes about 5 different sounds, but its shit so not worth fixing.

at low speeds, a squeaky sound. High speeds. A bit like a stationary train with that funny motor soung under the carriage.

I'd say wheel bearing, mines fooled also

if its wheel bearing the noise will increase as your turn left if its the offside, there will be play in hub eventually or even now depending how bad it is. cv joint usually knocks when turning as a pose to sounding like a stationery train lol. another thing that can be worth checking as it squeaks at low speed is that your sliders on your calliper and free and moving properly, have a tendency to seize therefore your pads are on the discs ever so slightly even when your off the pedal, causing them to squeek and would make a racket at high speeds if your pads are becoming foooooooked !! hope it helps
