   I was just wondering if the earlier mk2 engine is the same as the mk1 engine?

   the first vtrs were black top(90bhp) then went onto silver top(90 bhp)
   then 2000 onwards iirc they went to silvertop (98bhp)
   
   if it has the cat in manifold and 3 plugs coming out of the ecu its the 98bhp model

   Sh*t sorry.. didnt explain myself very well.
   
   Ive got a mk1 vtr. And a smashed up mk2 vtr. 2000 model. So its 90bhp.
   
   Was just wondering if its the same engine. Because engines fine in the mk2 and was going to put it in the mk1. With gearbox and few other stuff.

   need to triple check the mk2 engine for cat under the car and that it ahs single plug ECU. If so then same engine

   if the new engine has oil filter on right hand side, dip stick on left, 3 plug ecu and cat in manifold then its 98bhp

   Pretty sure it is 90bhp mk2. Seen as its first registerd in november 2000. And wasnt that when they made the mk2 98bhp. Around that time.
   
   Ill check tonite how many plugs the ecu has.

   saxo vtrs registerd after septemper 2000 are 98bhp i think mines was registerd in december 2000 and its a 98bhp

    Nah mine was registerd in november 2000. But its got single plug. So its 90bhp.
