Hi All,
I have a 2001 Saxo which has done a little over 67000 miles - short journeys mostly - and just recently it has started to make a strange rattling noise from underneath. Its difficult to describe the noise, its like something rubbing on a spring.
At first I thought it was the exhaust - loose or something - once it warms up after a few minutes, the noise goes. Exhaust I thought.
Now, it seems to be related to changing gear and pulling away at low speed. Its really odd.
I propped the car up and climbed around underneath pushing and pulling, and cant find anything loose. Also found that when in first gear, with handbrake off, can also make the noise by pulling and pushing against the gearbox. Now thinking clutch
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
