Bucket seats.. Comfy?

As the title says really, im just wondering if bucket seats are actually comfortable? Obviously im assuming the more expensive you go the more they will be but just in general?

    thanks

as above, reclining buckets i have are like a lazy boy so comfy feels like they fold around u

the buckets i have are recliners, i wouldnt call them "Comfy"
but i do like how they hold me up-right as i tend to slouch

theres no way of telling if your going to like buckets or not with out trying them first!

i like the firmness of the buckets, they hold me in all the right places

Bucket seats i had in my Astra were horrible! That was 1 of my major flaws with the car, but i bet Sparco / Recaro seats will be the business!

1st saxo i had citroen Sport Buckets, loved them for a month or 2 then hated them, they hurt my back & were uncomfortable as fuck,
new saxo came with buckets again & was like nah not a chance im keeping these so fucked em off

I find recliners are pretty comfy to sit on, similar to standards to be fair but like said they just hold you nicer. Standard buckets if you spend the money you get the comfort, not a fan otherwise!

Depends on what ones you buy really, mine are ok but could be better

I have sparco sprints and they are not comfy.

my seats are incredibly comfortable. trips to germany an i can get out with no back ache. not the sort of seats you would buy for a normal road car though.

All depends on the seat, cobra monacos (budget) are disgustingly uncomfy, had omp records (wrap arounds) and you could fall asleep in them. If your not after recliners I'd go for an fia approved fixed bucket

I find mine perfectly comfy. I've got Corbeau Forza's and they're fine, a little jolty and jiggly at times. But it doesn't hurt, more informative than anything.

My OMP wrap around buckets are very comfortable, they're steel upper and sides but have a sprung bottom unlike a lot of them that have a plate or fibreglass bottom which can get uncomfortable after a while, the only thing added was an additional lumber support, downside is I don't know if they're still made

I've got Simota recliners and they're sooo comfy. Would definitely recommend getting recliners rather than fixed ones.

Ahh thanks guys really helpful I guess summing it up then, if im wanting comfy bucket seats im gunna have to either do my research or pay out a bit more! I think they look awesome you seee, but i travel back and forth from uni a lot and do loads of other long journeys so I wouldnt wanna get them and then break my back every journey lol!

Are you not also concerned about other things?

such as how well they hold you? key areas of support? width / dimensions? weight? what type of harness they support? etc

or is this for another saxp 'track car'?

as for comfort, Recaro pole positions are very good. pretty pricey for a run of the mill seat, but worth it.

I've got Corbeau Forza's too and find them comfortable, a 100 mile trip causes no arse ache!

Well yeah, obviously I wouldnt want a seat that would happily let me smack my head everywhere if i take a corner lol! I havent really thought about it properly yet, hence not knowing about what dimensions i need etc.. Thread's more of just a curiousity if anything

Depends what seats you get tbh. Avoid Cobra Monacos like the plague, heavy and uncomfortable, yet I had an unbranded seat from Rally Design, and it was light as hell, comfy, and cost the same as Monacos...

Mate's got wrap around Corbeau Revolutions, again, really comfy, and really light. I've got a Bride Zeta II atm, and that's comfy for an hour or so, then starts to get a little bit uncomfy, but it's light, and has got Bride written on it, so i'm willing to put up with that.
