iv been looking at kam racing for suspension kits for vts track car that il be getting soon but they have dampers and shock absorbers for front whats the differance. i wanted bilsten group n with 155 lb faulkner springs on front and then bilsten b8 on rear, i checked prices with it being dampers on the front it was alot more money than having shock absorbers on front.

#2i think, a damper is literally a damper unit and a shock is the whole shock unit if that makes sense...but i may be wrong!
-
#3On there site, you can buy each damper individual, as a damper package or as a complete damper/spring package.

#4kristel is my comment correct because im really not 100% sure myself??

#5shock absorber is the same as a damper i believe but im guessing they class it one as the actual damper insert and the shock absorber is the unut with spring cup etc

#6thats what im thinking rick, mmmm

#7A shock absorber is the incorrect name for a damper.
Technically the coil spring absorbs the shocks from the raod and the damper reduces the oscillations (up and down movement) of the spring -
#8But the op is talking about how kam name different items and what comes with it.
