Important! : Steering has a mind of its own!

My girlfriends VTR seems to have a mind of its own. You turn left then when you turn back to the right it carry's on going to the right and ends up heading towards the wrong side of the road!

Feels really "out of control" and unsafe.

I've had it up on the jack today and had the wheels off. I suspected as much and it does need 2 new top mounts. But as for the steering I really dont know... The track rod ends are solid and its had some new parts under there recently.
Bottom Ball Joints look fine, the bushes look in good nick... I'm completely lost!

Cant really get a good look at the steering rack, but it looks pretty new to say the least. No play in the rear beam at all and the bushes on the shocks look ok, cant really see the rear beam bushes. Theres no real play in the steering at all, its just flies off on its own sometimes!!

The biggest worry I've got with it is it has Ford wheels on with spacers and long bolts. I really dont think theyre safe, could this be causing the steering to fly off though?

    Cheers for your help guys.

The things i`d look at 1st are seeing if a mate has got a spare set of saxo alloys/steelies(genuine oem spec 1`s)put them on & see if it corrects the problems then go from there mate.
