wheni pull the trigger by the steering wheel there is no water coming out on the windscreen nor the boot. sounds like the motor has gone. anyone else had this problem?

#2Check under the bonnet whilst a mate presses washers. If there's no noise it's motor or check the fuse
If it does it's probably just blocked n needs cleaning -
#3Is there water in the bottle?
Then check fuses to start with! -
#4yeah there is water in the bottle
there is no noise coming from the motor so its either the fuse or the motor itself.
had a look at the fuse box but daft question which fuse is it for the washer motor?! -
#5There you go mate most FAQ`s are covered in the stickies http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...025#post875025

#6if your wipers work and your pump doesn't, then it's your pump.

#7Sorry to hyjack the thread.Quote:Check under the bonnet whilst a mate presses washers. If there's no noise it's motor or check the fuse

I kind of have the same issue but i can hear the motor going when i press for washers but nothing is coming through, took the pipe off the top end where it goes into the jets and nothings coming out so im thinking blockage....
My question really is how do i "check for blockages and give it a clean apart from what i have alerady done"? -
#8Mine went other day, first I checked fuses. If you look in your logbook/manual it's in there. If that's fine then. Pop the bonet and on the bonnet closest to the windscreen you will see a rubber pull that back till you find a black pipe pull it off the connector and blow through it. Check to see if it works, if not pump is gone.

#9ok, tried blowing from the bonnet end but no joy, i tried getting under the car to get at the motor itself but my screwdriver was too big - going to have another go at it tomorrow.
I mean logically is it right in saying that if you can hear the motor going when you press the stick then the motor itself should be working ok? In my head it dont really sound like "an electrical issue" though i want to get to the pipe at the motor end and try again and see if anything spills out onto the floor - that is unless if i disconnect the rubber tube from the motor end its going to just stream out anyway?
Sorry, lots of questions - this is all new to me and just trying to get my head around stuff - how much would it cost for a new motor anyway? -
#10I have the same issue, however only one of the two sprays water.
-
#11i just changed the motor and it still not working. im thinking the only other option is a garage to test to see if there a break in the circuiti suppose
-
#12It could be the stalk at fault. If u have checked the fuse and changed the pump.
-
#13talk about a

when you pull your stalk do you hear a noise?
checked the fuse? -
#14iv not checked the fuse yet as i was told if the wiper blades are working okay then the fuse is okay?
do you think it could be the stalk as i have just replaced the indicator stalk half due to it randomly working. -
#15if it worked before the stalk change and now it no longer works, then most likely.... a cheapo used stalk? or maybe just wiring isnt right..
-
#16the washer hasnt worked since i bought the car a few weeks ago. like i said i changed the pump for a new one so its not that. everything else seems to be working on the stalk just not getting anything when i pull back on it to get water. no sound from the pump. i only changed the indicator stalk not the wipers. i got the wiper stalk as well so thats gonna have to be my next try. i hope its not wiring, thats gonna be a real pain in the ass to trace.

#17Try squirting some contact cleaner into the switch gear...it worked when my wipers packed in, could save you time and effort.

#18okay so i managed to get the wheel arch cover off today to get a proper look at the wires and bottle and motor. it would seem that someone has had a go at this before and managed to snap the connector so it wont click onto the washer bottle motor. soon as the engine starts it vibrates off. so with one hand on the stalk and the other on the connector holding it down, i finally got water out of the jets. problem solved

#19Iv got the same issue
-
#20i managed to cable tie around the plug then use another couple of cable ties to wrap around the pump pulling the plug and pump together. its not a permanent solution but it works for now.
