Exhaust to too F*****G loud :(

    Hi Guys

    my exhaust is ridiculously loud, although it sounds nice, pops, bangs and spits it's so loud that my friend rang me and asked where i was so i told him, he could then hear my car 1.3 miles away :/. i get bollocked by my neibourghs all the time aswell lol. does anyone now of a quiter back box or something to help this ?

    my exhaust is a Maniflow System : custom s/s 4-2-1 manifold, custom straight through s/s de-cat to 3 inch back box.

    or is there anyway other way of making it quiter but still keep the gains i get from it?

    Ha I like this! Only thing I'd suggest is to get a centre pipe with a sports cat on, or a silencer, should keep the popping and gains with ought the f1 car loudness!

    Mine was loud before i buy it and i told the guy at citroen to fit me a centre pipe so i would make less sound.Now with windows closed i almost hear nothing .Only bad thing is that it doesnt pop.

    do you know of any good center pipes with a sports cat? honestly its stupidly loud...sets car alarms off in multistories

    think its 2 1/4 inch ? but not 100% sure.

    Try wrapping the manifold, its equivilent to adding a small centre box to quieten the exhaust, plus if anything you will see a performance gain from lower under bonnet temps and denser exhaust gas flowing easier.

    Plus it looks the nuts!

    No back pressure at all lol... get a middle section with silencer on it as others have said! wont make it loads quieter though

    So if I were to wrap my manifold and buy a middle section with silencer (Where from lol) this would help abit. I know i sound thick as s*** but I just really cannot be bothered to go down the £££££ route of a whole new system as this beast cost toooo much ! Thanks for the help though guys, Appreciated !!

    put a cat and mid pipe with silencer

    If its a 2 1/4" bore then other exhaust systems are not going to be a straight fit. Most are 50mm as this is more than adequate for up to 200bhp.

    u can get little plug type things that u wack in the back to muffle the sound then jsut take it out wen u want it loud

    Sounds loud mate,

    What you want to do is ..
    Take the whole exhaust off and just have it from the manifold down.

    That should quiten it up abit.

    Thats how my saxo is sitting atm nice and quiet...doesn't sound at all tractor'esk either

    bit confused...so basically remove the manifold and have a standard manifold and then the straight through decat system? or the otherway around lol ? are the supersprint systems stupidly loud ?
