Driveshaft thread problem ???

   Hi, my old driveshaft went and i replaced it, my shafts were tapered.. i have replaced with a good conditioned used one (tapered) but it appears the thread isnt long enough.. and its making it cause a similar noise to when my old shaft broke.. pics to explain.
   
   Passengers side (Correct Shaft)
   
   
   New Shaft - Drivers Side
   
   
   So basically, im confused and can anyone help me or point me to the correct shaft?

   Simply cut the shaft in half and then drill
