Spraying VTR Standard wheels

How hard is it to get a decent finish?
I've a week off work and I've sourced some black (sprayed) VTR wheels for £80.

I was wondering how easy would it be to spray them white?

Am I right just sand them down, primer, spray and shit loads of laqueur?

I'm thinking of doing mine have you got any pictures?

Also how much did the paint set you back and what would I use to fill in any chips or scrapes?

    Cheers

i bought 3 big tins of halfords primer and halfords gloss black and it came to 37 quid, i didnt need filler as the wheels were ok.

£37 isn't too bad and the wheels look really nice.

Did it take you long to do? Would filler be enough or would it just fall out on impact?

as for filler i dont know craig should know as he recons wheels, the painting took me all weekend and i left them to dry for a week before i put them on

Nice wheels mate they look lush.
Any idea if I got the matt black ones could I turn them glossy finish with lacquer, I don't know though I imagine they've already been lacquered?

yeah mate you could, you would have to give it a fine rubbing down, but it would be better with a fresh coat of black then the laquer. because any imperfections laquer aint gunna cover it

sorry to hijack... can any alloys be sprayed? mine have got like massive scrathces/delves in them where ive curbed it, and what spray do people use just like halfrauds 'black metallic paint'?

You'll want to fill the scratches first mate or it'll look shit.

scratches can be filled and sanded wi super glue sounds daft but does work.

yes any alloy can be sprayed just need to key (sand) the wheel a bit first
