have fitted piper ultimate road cam and pully to my vtr everything went well and is running great unmapped/chipped, pulling very well with plenty of torque but on tickover you can hear that it is a little louder than before, i have set clearances and checked again it is set at .20 and .25 inlet/ex. engine is roller rocker. i did strip the head down and have skimed also new springs and sorted the cast in the ports and a little polishing on the exhaust ports. have done oil changed but still the same. is it just cos it was stripped down? are they always little louder once cam fitted?
vtr tappets little louder after cam install

#2It's just because you've fitted the cam mate
Mine was the same on my saxo when I cammed, except mine was non roller so was loud to start with but it went a fair bit louder with the newmans cam fitted
Don't worry about it mate, just drive it and enjoy it now
