Help! Best way to get the lens from front lights off

   Hi, i have got the front lights off my car and am stuck on how to get the lense off from the unit. ive tried hairdrying it but when i cut the glue and that its making the black plastic bit around the lights all messy and that. is this normal when trying to take the lens out. would putting the light in an oven at low heat help???
   
   I am wanting to spray the insert inside black

   supposedly putting them in the oven at a low heat first and then using a hairdryer along the seams helps
