When Fitting an After Market Steering wheel?

  1. #1
Ok i bought a After Market Steering Wheel and i just need to get the Boss Kit for it.
But as i have an Air bag in my Origanal Steering wheel i just want to know if i can just get a Standard Boss Kit for the Saxo? Or Do i have to get the one thats is Suitable for saxo's with Airbags?

Here are the Item Numbers on Ebay to give you abit more of a clue in what im talking about

    Airbag Boss Kit = 370497689306
Non Airbag Boss Kit = 110694926685

All the airbag kit does is connect up in place of the airbag, meaning your airbag dash light wont be on. Worth doing, it's annoying having lights on the dash.

Thank you, i thought it would be something like that. But just wanted to double check. And my air bag light is on anyways as i removed the seats that had airbags in them and replaced them with bucket seats lol
So it looks like im going to be unscewing the bulb haha!

yea as above its fine and tape over light

The light on is a mot failure.

All the airbag kit has extra is a resistor you plug into the airbag wire to stop the light coming on..

At the moment an air bag light on is not an MOT failure ABS light on though is.The laws on warning lights are changing though(next year I believe)

personally, for the difference in price (nearly double), could you not just get a resistor to stop the light flashing? rather than buying the more expensive boss?

I just take the Airbag ECU out lol... Much cheaper...

Why would you take the dash out?you only need to remove the instrument cluster then long nose pliers twist the bulb the out job done.

MK2 the dash lights are solderd in which means you have to rip them of with some nose plyers or brake it. i have a Saxo MK2 dash to play with my pc games. plus the airbag light is no MOT failure at all i just did get mine trough MOT with Airbag light on and all they said was to get it checked and fixed. but if you want to have the light of taping it over would be a good way of doing it on MK2 saxo so is mine to

It is an MOT failure, it's indicating a failing airbag for the love of god.

Your MOT tester is obviously a bit dodgy

Very true failure on my part to read the thread properly.

Your best option in my opinion is to remove the airbag control unit, which is located under the centre console in front of the tray by your gearstick. This will then not send a signal to the dashboard warning system, which means no warning lights on dash= mot pass.
