    on the front headlights, there's a small white/yellow, umbrella sort of thing over the light bulb, my mate just fitted some 'super brilliance' bulbs for the front, which are 50% brighter then normal, and also removed the umberllas, now his lights are ridiculously bright..

    his normal dipped lights are brighter then standard high beams, thats how bright they are, basicly - is he a idiot and going to fail his mot? or is this actully legal to remove the umbrellas?

    thanks! haha, yeah they were inside the lights casing, but one he took the old bulbs out for changing he ripped the umbrella's out with some long nose plyers, can't wait to see his face when i tell him they're illegal :lol: hes gunna love me

    Yeah they are there to kind of reflect the light back onto the main reflective bit if that makes sense? I'ts to do with getting the light spread out evenly rather than a solid beam of light.

    Yep illegal as they will shine in the wrong area/dazzle oncoming drivers. As soon as you start removing things that were put there originally your asking for problems. TBF
