Clutch problem, What am i missing?

Right quick summary: offside driveshaft knackered, gearbox knackered.

So off i went and got a 'new' box, fitted and connected everything back up (at least i think i did)

Problem: Can't select gear when engine is running but will select when engine is off, i know this points to a duff clutch but i know thats fine as it wasn't touched when replacing the box. Clutch travel measured up right only difference being that it had to be tightened up a lot more than what it was before. Also when the front wheels are in the air and the engine running there is power being delivered therefore ruling out the clutch plate.

Any ideas? Have i simply missed securing the cable somewhere or a screw from somewhere?

I'm getting shit from a local environmental person as i have the car sat above a drain and shes worried that im leaking oil/contaminants into the system. (Fair enough) Also the tiny fact that i would also like the bloody car back on the road.

    Cheers

Id say the clutch is probably overadjusted if you say you had to tighten it loads.

Before i took the clutch cable off i marked the threads so that i knew where to re-tighten the bolts to, done that once the box was back on and the pedal had way too much play in it and the lever was loose at the other end.

Cheers and I'll give it another look over sometime next week

    Did you knock the fork?

No, i definitely made sure that was in place along with the plastic collar, whos name alludes me at the minute.

That would be a bastard and i ain't taking the box off again.

Lol, well man, I can only think you've got the clutch too tight.

Try slaking the cable off a bit

Play around with it, that's really only how you can fix it
