radiator problem

hi as i have said in my previous post, i have a leak in my radiator, today i went out and when i pulled up there was steam coming out of the righthand side of the engine bay ( below the powersteering pump) its coming from the radiator as there was a pool of water under the car, its never steamed like this before as i have known about the leak for a while now. so i got the car home and looked in the engine bay only to find the plastic grill from the bumper has got caught in the fan and stopped it from going round, i have bought some stuff for the radiator to fix leaks and it says run the car with heaters on for 25 mins which its doing at the min, its been running now for 15mins and no steaming or leaks well cant see leaks anyway, my question is i havent seen the fan work since i got the grill out of it, could it have broke it?? when should the fan kick in, i also have a faulty temp sensor too as the needle on dash doesnt move it stays at the bottom thats been like that for 3 days but fan was on when i noticed sensor was broke, any ideas when the fan should come on i.e 15 mins, 40 mins etc etc

    thanks

unplug the sensor at the thermostat and the fan should come on,that will show its working,if it still doesnt come on when its hot change the sensor

If its Radweld you`ve put in your radiator then good luck as it can block up your heater matrix.Plus i`m pretty sure your oil temperature sensor is on the sump on a vts mate.

Unplug them all,one should bring your fan on, if not put a live to your fan,if it still does not work you might of burnt it out when you said something got stuck in it.but i dont think so,anyway check it out.

ive just pulled out the blue and green plug out when engine was on and the fan didnt come on all i got different was the light on the temp dial went red, i left it running for about 1-2 mins but fan didnt kick in so i put them back in when engine was running, do you think resetting the ecu will do anything?? if so how do i do that????

    thanks for this

sorted the fan out, it was not the sensors in the engine it was the fuse in the engine bay, because the grill was stuck in the fan it shorted the fuse so £1.79 for 2 fuses sorted it out, well made up, so the radiator is no longer losing water and car is not overheating i can get it a new radiator next month now as new baby will defo be here this monday so need the extra cash.

thanks for all your advice everyone
