Right what I did was get the led unit from a vts which is moulded into plastic already. This unit fits into the end of the row of buttons(heated rear window)etc as standard on vts. Then how you connect up is up to you but I got a cigarette socket & wired into that then plugged into that when I left the car.You could wire it to a hidden switch etc.The light on mine didn`t flash but just came on when connected up.I`ve removed it now & its in my tool box.

it all seems overly complicated for my small little mind haha, i think i may just put the LED in.. no matter if it flashes or not lol

you can buy flashing leds - like this

i did this in a saxo before. go to maplins and get a little 'fake alarm led circuit' that you solder together with the instructions. it lets you adjust the flashing intervals and how long the flash lasts.

if you connect the pos and negative to the red and yellow wire (permanent live & switchable live) of your head unit (i forgot which way round), wired this way the light will start flashing when the car is off and when you turn to the first click of the ignition it will turn off automatically.
I also ran an inline switch on one of the wires so that the person can turn it off if hes just sitting in his car with the ignition off without an led flashing in his face lol
