Air bag wires, no need to disconnect the battery they'll be fine.

Just unplug them, and put your new seats in and plug them back in.

I normally disconnect the battery just in case, i never mess with Orange / air bag systems unless the battery is off. Really not worth the risk lol.

If it's anything like my vtr the battery just has two caps on either terminal that screw off. You want to unscrew the - terminal and wait around 10 mins for the air bag system to shut off. You might have 10mm nuts holding the terminals on, if that's the case just un-do them!

The new seats should have plugs for the cables to re-attach to. If they don't you might have an air bag warning light come on afterwards.

yeah my seats have got a orange cable then a brownish colour box, the bloke didnt know how to seperate the brown box so he just cut the cable at the other end, if that makes sence..

    seat>orange cable>brownbox>cut orange cable

so just undo the negative bolt(or means of attachment), then do the other one, leave for 10 mins, then unplug the brown box?

    sorry for making this hardwork

diswconnect the battry and wait 10 minutes for it to discharge
i remember reading about a guy on hear who just cut wire cut them out the way to get the seats out, ended up with an airbag smashing his face!

the wires under the seats are for the seatbelt pretensioners. these tighten the tension of the seatbelt to get you in the correct position for the airbag

all you need to do is disconnect the negative terminal on the battery.

I've never disconnected the battery when unplugging these wires, the ones in the steering wheel, yeh do then but the ones under the seats, there's no need to.

I've unplugged, cut, soldered, plugged them back in them wires with the battery connected on all 3 of my cars, once the engine was running.

There's no need to disconnect, but if you want to there is also no harm in doing so.
