steering pump

   Hey people, was just wondering if any1 knows if you are able to get an upgraded steering pump. I have a vtr with 17's on it and my steering pump keeps going, I have been told that this is because my wheels are to big and causing to much pressure on the pump. Has any1 else had this problem and if so what is the solution. Getting fed up of having heavy steering. Any help would be greatly appreciated

   4 possible solutions I can think of
   
   1) get a brand new pump - your old one(s) may have been about ready to die anyway.
   2) put some smaller wheels on
   3) check tyre pressures - low pressure will increase load on the system
   4) alter the suspension strut top position* to the NON PAS position - will decrease castor so handling may suffer a bit but steering will be lighter.
   
   * There are 4 holes and 3 nuts in an L shape. Alter it so the fixings are 180 degrees from original. Hard to explain, sorry I am not very good!

   Thanks alot will give that a try. Ive alredy put a reconditioned pump on it and same thing happened so will give the suspension one a try
