Replacing Driveshaft?

  1. #1
I've had a 1996 saxo 1.1 for a year now and its always had a knocking noise coming from the front nearside wheel when turning at a sharpish angle. I've drove maybe 8,000 miles with this noise but I think i'm hearing it more now!

I believe this is the driveshaft? From what I've read on here it seems an easy enough job to replace just checking that all i need is this:

and obviously replace the gearbox fluid?

    Thanks, i appreciate your help!

sounds more like a anti roll bar or wishbone tbh maybe change them 1st cheaper and easy option and see what happens after that

It is driveshaft cv joint, when car is in the air check for free ovement in the drive shaft by twisting and pulling back and forward, up down etc it if movement then needs replaced, but if you jack up car high enough on that side you won't need to replace the gearbox oil, put a cloth in apeture until ready to fit bew driveshaft

its till a safer bet to just change the whole gearbox oil. i did with mine and it made a difference!
