Mot Quierie..

  1. #1
    ABS light on
    Airbag light on
Bit of camber on passenger rear wheel (nackered axle bearings)
    Knocking cv joint, gaiter split

And i need to get it through mot... as cheaply as poss, any suggestions
  2. #2
Yeah fix them before you go
  3. #3
I think you're asking a bit much expecting that to pass lol.
  4. #4
Lol nearly all failures by one good luck
  5. #5
all fails apart from the air bag light
  6. #6
All fails, including the air bag light. Might get away with the rear bearing dependent on how bad it is and MOT tester.
  7. #7
mine just flew through its MOT and the airbag light is always on.

i've heard some places will fail it on this though, depends where you take it.
  8. #8
i was always told an air bag light aint a fail its an advisory

    http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=117648
  9. #9
Its gonna need money spending on it to get it through mot so cheapest option is to just fix it yourself 1st
  10. #10
Air bag light is deffo NOT a fail but it will be next year..but thats another thread lol
  11. #11
Im getting an abs sensor, but will they check over the axle and pick it up on mot?
  12. #12
They will check rear wheel bearings etc if that whet you mean ;-)
  13. #13
hmmm, id always been on the understanding that a flashing Airbag light was a fail, especially since my escort failed two years ago because of it. Was simply a case of joining the wires and it worked as normal. Easy fix

ABS light on = take out bulb
Airbag light on = take out bulb
Bit of camber on passenger rear wheel = not a failure depending on seriousness
Knocking cv joint, gaiter split = new driveshaft £20

You can find a driveshaft for 20quid i will applaude you
  16. #16
And apparently they test the abs operation on the mot so it wont work properly without the replaced sensor so i dont think taking th bulb out would help:/ correct me if im wrong?
  17. #17
dont think abs is a problem, nor airbag. Take it somehwer like MOTMAX and if it can possibly pass it will. They only o mots so dont look for work..they check the underneath well so theyll notice its split, maybe only advisory, wither way, it all wants sorting so you might aswell get it done now?

Depends how bad, jack the car up on the sill and if it breaks or like bends then its probs nackered, will need welding or a replacement

thats definetly a fail, as they should have a test sheet on the wall for the correct operation of ABS lights when the ignition is switched on.

As said above that is correct,as i didnt knw my abs light was on until i removed the clocks and sein a lump ov plaster in front ov the light.. Themot tester will turn on the ignition, abs light will light up,turns the key and the abs light should stay on for approx 1-2seconds after car is started, but in my case the light hasnt bein sein in about two years ha..

Still trying to find the cause as i check all probabl things

hmm...cant quite remember if my old saxo had ABS light on ignition, I know for a fact it didnt have abs but cant quite remember about the light as I dont have the saxo anymore.

Yeah way down here cornwall, Anyone know why the abs sensor would keep breaking? I looked over mot history and my car has had abs sensors before for the mot :/ very puzzling, nothing bad in the history though only normal stuff, brakes, washer fluid, stupid things really
