power steering power supply

   I had a 1.1 running without the alternator belt.
   
   Loads of power in battery, could put main beam on etc...
   
   Power steering was real heavy - like the dc motor on steering pump wasnt powered at all?
   
   
   Anyone got the circuit diagram??

   Jeff, from what I can gather the alernator - once spinning and kicking out the juice activates a relay that powers (via a fuse of course) the PAS, Rear heater and blowers. Once you have the alternator running the PAS etc should work as normal.
   
   Also there is a guide on here that allows you to join two wires under the steering cowel to allow use of PAS, screen and blowers just from battery only as that relay has a habit of failing.

   + prolonged use of an alternator without the belt on will damage the alternator.
