Alarm keeps going off??

    Hi all...

Come rain or shine...if i lock my car with the fob...the alarm always goes off within minuets...WHY? lol, i can under stand if the A pillar drains or airal is leaking in the rain (which they dont) that it runs past the sensors and sets it off...and if its windy they may be sensative...but in the sun, where its been sunny for wheeks so every thing is dry and no rain...it still does it....what is going on?? lol

Its a standard alarm btw on a 98 VTS

    Thanks

It's a common fault with the sensors in the A pillars as they deteriorate with age.

    options are...

    a) Replace them for new ones
    b) disconnect them permanently, the rest of the alarm will still work but it'll stop going off with regularity
    c) before you get out of the car, hold down the button on the dash for the sensors (below the air vent) for a few seconds to disable the sensors, then get out and lock the car with the fob as normal. This is what I used to do with my VTS.
