saxo gearbox internal swap

    Hi all,

basically ive got a 206 xsi 1.6 16v with the hydraulic clutch, the truble is
, since january ive put 3 gearboxes in my car, each time the diff goes and ends up grinding and whining...

Ive been talking to Steve Brear in leeds and he suggested swapping the gearbox internals from a saxo vts and putting them in the 206 casing...

Does anyone know if this would be possible? He said he thought it should be but wouldnt know for sure so any help is appreciated

    thanks

MA boxes the internals are moslty interchangable. However if you are blowing diffs often id suggest you look at how you drive.

Ive been talking to Micheal Barrymoore in Hampshire and he said the 206 GTI casings are different.

Edit: read gti not xsi theyre not MA though are they?

I'd fit a Quaife diff if you keep blowing the standard diffs up.

Under what condition do they normally break?

they just eventually start to grind, generally after a couple of months or so, it may be possible that the boxes ive bought arent as good as the seller makes out, just my exhaust is so loud i cant hear it grinding at the early stages...

ive been pricing up quaife diffs and so far the cheapest i can see is around 550+vat... im thinking this may be my only solution to the problem
