1.1 decat mani

   i was wondering if its worth me putting a de-cat on my1.1 desire becasue i baught it with a aftermarket exhaust on , all i reallywant the de-cat for is a bit ore noise becasue looking at the exhaust you would expect some noise but its literally silent .
   
   will it increase preformance
   is it worth m money
   where do i get one from thats haf decent.

   Performance? Not noticeable.
   Worth the money? For noise - yes... performance - no.
   
   Depends what your car is. If its a Mk2, then the cat is in the mani... so you'll have to get a new manifold to decat the car. If its a MK1, then the cat is just a pipe under the car - so just buy a decat pipe to bypass the cat.
   
   I believe I can speak from experience anyway, I had a decat on my 51 plate 1.1, but I did the shit / cheap method of taking my cat apart and getting rid of the honeycomb shit inside... so it basically became a straight through pipe. If you do this, make sure you wear a decent mask! That shit is nasty.

   yeh the cat on mines in the downpipe , how would i go about taking the cat apart ?
