How do i properly two tone my alloys?

This is an old photo of my persian red saxo furio:

Rear lights are changed, so don't look at them

The alloys are Enzo Cup. I want the star glossy black and the inner ring persian red.

To have an idea how it will look like:

My problem now is, how do i properly mask the alloys, which color comes first?
    Some advice is really appreciated.

I'd probably do the black first, you will have some fun doing that though

id do the inner bit first, let them fully drive for a day or 2 than do the rim.ming.

+1 for the body shop qoute because unless you are someone who is extremely good with alloy painting you will find it hard

Well i will give it a try. I read somewhere that you firstly do the whole rim black, then apply on the outer ring the desired color. Professional airbrush stuff will be bought anyways, cause i have to do much more work.

Never never ever paint black first. Always paint the lightest colour first as any lighter colour over black will make it look dark and take 3-4 time's as much paint.

So paint the rim the colour you want then let it set for 2-3 days. Then fine line tape the edges mask up the rim and paint the inner black then remove all the masking tape. Then clear coat the whole lot at the same time for a even and smooth finish.

See now it is going the other way. Some say inner first, somne outer. Lets see how many opinions i will get in addition.

Mate i have painted more wheels than you have had hot dinners.

Why would you paint anything black that you will have to paint on top of? just daft you will use more paint will cost you twice as much and will end up with a muted tone when it's all done.

Always paint the lightest colour first.
