I must shamefully admit I'm here because I need your help again!
I've got an odd fault with my stock Citroen CD player. I like it, so I'm not massively inclined to replace it with anything other than another stock Citroen CD player...and I'm not convinced the CD player itself is the fault.
Anyhow, I digress.
When the engine is off, the CD player will work faultlessly. With the ignition on (but engine off) it'll also still work. However, start the engine and it'll only sometimes work. You know how you can hear the CD player seeking? A gentle clicking noise? You can hear it struggle when the engine is running, but it gives up.
Interestingly, if you stop at your destination, start the cd and turn the engine off, when you return to the car to go home, it will - more often than not - play the CD. So long as you pull away fairly quickly.
Is it a vibration issue?
Some things I've read suggest electrical issues. But to be honest, I'm not sure. And I'm a bit concerned that replacing the unit itself may just cause the same fault, if it isn't as simple as the CD player itself!
Any ideas anyone? Your help would be hugely appreciated.

P.S. It's a Saxo Desire 1.1 if that helps! Y reg.
P.P.S. Very occasionally there's bursts of industrious ticking from the inside fuse box, like the indicator noise, but nothing appears to happen (inside or outside) - anyone have any ideas what THAT might be? A mechanic told me not to worry about it. ¬_¬
