Idle + Accelerating problems

    Hello
I have 2 problems with my car, it maybe linked but I'm not sure

1st problem is when the cars at Idle - The RPM Drops below 1000, and the car tries to stall, sometimes it stalls, sometimes it doesn't. This is very annoying because when there is traffic or when I'm reversing, when ever there is no gas going in it does that. I have found a way to fix that problem temporarily is to pull the ECU "cable?" out of the ECU for a minute then plugging it back in again, which I assume clears the memory? It works for a few days, then the problem comes back again.

2nd problem would be the acceleration, when I'm cruising along quietly the gas cuts off like a delay or something, then suddenly back again. It doesn't have that problem when I drive it a little harder.

What I have in mind is maybe the Idle control valve? gear box? Spark plugs? Spark plug cable?

P.S it cannot be the map sensor because I had that changed last month

    Thanks in advance guys!

Honestly could be a mass of different sensors, or clogged airfiler, crap plugs, plug leads, coil...injectors, icv could be worth cleaning, loads of black shit came out of mine lol

It does sound like MAP sensor, did they replace it with a brand new item, or a second hand one?

I'd clean the ICV see if that helps. (located back of tb, two little torx screws).

The fuel issues sounds like your fuel filter might be partially blocked. Have you let the car get low on fuel lately? If so, it drags all the crap from bottom of your tank into the filter and cloggs it up. Try swapping the fuel filter, easy job, located back passenger side jacking point area. (unclip, clip new one in, cable tie it secure.. Or if your fussy you could get the proper bracket off citroen but most places just use a cable tie).

Also worth checking your air filter,

Yeah! I have been letting my fuel go low! It was nearly all out! I'll try changing the petrol filter then, and probably give the ICV a good clean again..

They replaced it with a brand new one, but the problem still persisted.
