Thrust bearing?

Whenever I accelerate I get a metallic grinding/rattling noise and it's pissing me off an has got worse over time.
Also when I'm sat still I get a different grinding noise that goes away when I push the clutch down, are these 2 things linked at all and what could it be?

Ive been told my Thrust Bearing is on its way out, but mine makes a sound more like when a fan belt is slipping, and goes away when i put the clutch down.
Can you still hear the noise when you accelerate?

Its your wheel bearing mate! the noise when u press down the clutch and it goes i think is sum spring or sumtin 4d clutch

Dunno about the first one ..(probably is clutch related thou)
But second its definitely the thrust bearing, new clutch mate, then should be sorted

The clutch is pretty new, only had it done about 4k miles ago if that. It's only when im accelerating i hear the grinding and im pretty sure it's not the wheel bearing because it's like a harsh grinding when i accelerate.

Lol Jake yeah must be the mangos nah mine makes a different kind of noise than when im stationary, im not too worried about that noise, it's mainly the grinding when im accelerating coz it's been there for a while..I get paid on thursday so i might have to take a trip to the garage but would like to know what it is before i go down there.

sound like thrust bearing, get it done before is goes and you dont have a clutch, about £20 from a motorfactor, then you've got to get it fitted
