Leak! from under drives side mid

   Ok when i baught my 1999 mk 1 vtr i got it home and noticed under the car there are these rubber nipple type things and one of them wasnt in properly and it was leaking when smelt and seemed to be water i managed to pull the plug back through and it stoped.. fort nothing of it..
   
   NOW the plug is still in but its leaking ?? What isit leaking and should i be worried about this ??

   ermmm ide say out side the car, mid about where the drives side door handle is under neath

   is that not where the fuel filter is?

   A little further back yeah it is, its not petrole ide smell it mate
