draining fuel tank

    anybody know the safest and easiest way to drain a fuel tank on a 1.1 saxo,the car is damaged so unable "to burn it off" cheers....gazza

    disconnect fuel line from tank to fuel filter. Put the tank pipe into a jerry can and turn the ignition on. the pump will keep stop priming so you will have to continue to turn the key on/off. or you could wire up a 12v supply for it which wouldnt be hard.

    cheers for quick reply,if i jack the car high enough at the back could i get it to gravity feed into the can without using the pump?

    No because the pick up goes up to the pump and not at the bottom of the tank.

    just drill a hole in the tank its plastic so won't spark

    & get soaked in petrol when the drill goes through then all over the drill which is electirc, which creates sparks inside the motor

    thats why we use an air drill with a 2'' holesaw to get fuel out lol, safety first and all that!

    Or use a hand drill,then when your finished stick a grommet in the hole.

    or pay a smack head a quid to syphon it out, let mister skag rat get a gob full of unleaded then offer him a fag. Fuel out of car, skag head on fire WIN WIN!

    This is the best solution by far. Get your tank drained and do the world a favour.

    I wouldnt trust a grommet to hold 45-50 liters lol.
