red pinstripe: keep or remove? pics post 1! **NEW PIC POST #12!!**

   red pinstripe wheel tape arrived today in the post, only £3.50 on ebay thought i'd whack it on the wheels before it rained, and got some before and after pics below
   im not too convinced whether it suits the car or not, its only been on for an hour and i'm already considering taking it off... looks abit tacky IMO! opinions though? rate/slate

   It's a weird one, the black tyres matched with the black wheels make them look bigger than they actually are. When the red pinstripe is applied it draws the eye to the diameter of the wheel making it look small. So personally I'd say no. On bigger wheels - YES!

   Does seem to make the wheels look a little smaller, but i think it looks good to have abit of colour.

   Hmm it looks good but +1 to above, it does seem to make the wheels look smaller and the tyres look bigger. Maybe on some vts wheels it would look the nuts

   completely agree with you m11ler.. draws attention to how small the wheels really are! ah, so many mixed opinions and comments... what to do, remove them or not? from a distance they look amazing, up close... not so amazing

    Red chevrons? I wanted to do it on my old VTR wheels but never got round to it.

    I know i've already given my opinion in the other thread butttttt it just looks tacky with it imo! Spoils the look of your car! I mean if you were going for say red chevrons, red mirrors, red fuel cap, red rear badges etc etc then i'm sure it would help pull the wheels off but just to have the red pinstripe and nothing else is a no imo. It also makes the wheels look smaller like others have said and imo with VTR wheels thats something you don't want as they are only 14"s as it is! I might change my mind if I see it in person at the meet Sunday but from the pics I have to say I prefer it without man

    haha to be honest james, it looks better in pics than it does in person! i will leave it on til the meet so you can see, but im more than likely gunna take it off just wanna see what it looks like with my smooth filler cap which should be on tomorrow!
    i dont want to go down the route of doing mirror caps, rear badges etc as i like it how it is.. just small subtle touches like a red sticker on the bottom left of the windscreen or something? can get hold of any sticker for like £2 on ebay so its not much to lose might just give it a try

    The red pin stripes make the wheels look to small so i would definately stick with the black originals. x x
