Will white spirit work to remove the paint off my alloys?

No mate nowhere near strong enough.

You will need something like nitromoors or if its aerosol then thinners should bring it off.

do you just want to repaint them or is there paint overspill drops on the wheels?
  4. #4
also graffiti remover gets the paint off nice, kinda same as nitromoors tho

Needs to be neutralised with a solvent before painting though or it stays on the metal and eats the new paint too.

you dont need to take the paint off completely, just sand down the rough bits, i had blistering right down to metal in parts on my vts wheels i just used the electric sander took thos bits down to metal then smoothed it all in and wet and dried the rest of the wheel, they have turned out really well.

It's mainly on the inside lip where the paint has built up then cracked, piss take to try and sand it down lol

get an electric sander on the job, if you have one obvs, if not try borrowing one. i got a little triangular headed one, its really good for thinks like wheels, worked a treat on my wheels. although you have to bare in mind that it will take alot of sanding by hand afterwards, i spent 2 weekends sanding and cleaning mine before i even thought about primer.

Yeh i tried using that earlier mate, was okay i was just scared of sanding it too much lol. Everytime i think they are ready i'd put a layer of primer on then something else will go wrong

get them bead blasted - oven dried and power coated - simples

Fire is the best way to get paint off.

Just sanded them down the best i could and primered them. First time ive ever sprayed so not looking for them to be perfect

Goodluck with them mate, I refurbished my VTR Rims last weekend and they came out great, if you get run marks just wait for it to dry, sand it off and try again. Time and persistance = A good finish
