My VTR alloys are different?

  1. #1
I bought a set of VTR alloys off a friends neighbour but when it come to fitting them the bolt was too big to fit through the hole in the alloys.
so i compared them to my VTR alloys on the car at the moment at realise that the new alloys hole is smaller.
    WHY IS THIS?

Thats pretty weird haha.........where they on a VTR before?
  3. #3
Were they both off the same year VTR?

    To answer both of you.
i dont know what they was on before i just assumed VTR alloys lol
and malky mine is Mk 2 VTR but i didnt know there is a difference in alloys because of the year of the car

I didn't think there was either mate, but just a suggestion.

Haha so true. I was just wondering if they had modified to fit something else maybe but would be weird making the holes smaller

I`m pretty sure citroen made 2 different sets of wheel bolts for vtr/s`s mate in different sizes.

Thats very weird, I wonder if there from a mk1 saxo? i have no idea never came across that before.

I would be suprised if anyone spent money on them to make the holes smaller. That does sound very strange though, have you had problems before when installing alloys?

there are 2 types of VTR wheel, same style but as you've found out, different bolt holes. Later wheels have holes that are larger part of the way down to take the shouldered type of bolt, earlier ones have a parallel hole that takes a straight shanked bolt. Later wheels will fit with either type of bolt, earlier ones won't fit with later bolts.

Thank you for solving this mystery!
so if im going to sell this set of alloys should i say for Mk1 only?

No they'll fit mk1 and mk2, but will need to get the straight bolts for them to fit anything lol.

Ok but for a Mk1 they will have no problem as they should already have the right bolts... but if it a mk 2 they will need alternative bolts right?

is it just me or do those holes look like there is not a symetrical (or however you spell it) hole between them?
