best way to smooth a boot

    Basically i want to know the best way to smooth a boot

    iv been looking at the panels on ebay that you can buy is that a good way of doing it or not

    honest answer, take it to a bodyshop. I tries doing my own myself, result wasnt too shocking but it still looks like its been done by a blind man. Metal plate needs welding behind the holes where the badges were. Then filler over the top, smooth sand etc paint laquer. Without the correct tools, paint it wont be worth the hassle.

    AVOID like the plague, seen lots of people who have used these, it WILL crack, even if you get a body shop to fit it

    as said, avoid them fibreglass panels, they sag and crack

    proper way is to weld a metal plate in the number plate recess and fill in the edges

    as above, avoid the fibreglass panels and get it done properly with welding up the recess

    surely if your body guy is any good he will know that is the only way they should be done, if he hasn't got a clue about that then find someone who knows

    Weld it up, filler and smooth it out.
